Blowing Springs Park

Bella Vista, Arkansas

The Blowing Springs park upper and Lower loop trail is approximately 2.2 miles long with the option of adding another mile by taking an intersecting route. This trail is not the most secluded and is marked as both a hiking trail and a biking trail. I would consider this primarily a biking trail and would be really good for trail running as well.

We spent about 2 1/2 hours on this trail shooting the lower section of the trail ( the upper section will be coming soon!) and encountered a handful of hikers and a lot of bike riders even though we went mid day on a Wednesday. They were all very nice and proper trail etiquette was followed, but made for several moments of having to move off of the narrow trails to allow groups to go by.

I personally would rate this trail as moderate and not suitable for those that have mobility issues due mainly to the bike traffic and the narrow routes. The walking surface was mostly smooth with some gradual inclines and declines.

One downside of this trail is that it is surrounded by roads, and there is even an RV park nestled between the upper and lower trails. Combine that with the new contraction of houses along the trail (you can see them in the tour) and it takes away from the peacefulness of this trail. As if that wasn’t bad enough the lower section doesn’t offer a lot of breathtaking views that one would normally enjoy from a hiking trail, but there are some cool rock formations along the way. As I mentioned above, I have not shot the upper portion of the trial yet, so there might be some hidden wonders located there…fingers crossed.

All that being said, it was nice to get out and walk even with the road noise and construction, and this is an awesome bike trail. If that is what you are looking for then this is definitely a place to go!

That’s my two cents on this trail, but as we all know the old saying “seeing is believing!” so check out the tour and make your own decision.

Thanks!
